  • Al - joyous ride.
Dan - you were missed but glad you had a great day and the Mash is up and running.
Dave et al - thanks for all you work.

I had to remember not to follow pink arrows this morning!

  • Great fun as always. I arrived late and hungover as is becoming a tradition and suffered round. Still saw quite a few stragglers on the way round.

  • My first London Classic and definitely not my last, great day with great company. Realised when I got home that my rear wheel was not spinning freely so may have been fighting the bike as well as those hills. Thanks to the lovely LLFGSS @Doctor_Cake @kat @blowfish @mands et al for the great company and waiting at the top of all the hills for me! Was great to see some OG Forum types I hadn't seen for a while too!

  • Brilliant day out and great riding with Jonny (I owe you a pint chap), Corny and Joe and later Middle of Nowhere, Schick and few others.

Thoroughly enjoyed the whole day, with the notable exception of feeling rather spewy up the hills of SE23 immediately after two pints of fizzy beer and a scotch egg at lunch. Next time maybe just an orange and soda at that point and save the beers for afterwards.

Other than that though it was boss! Great ride, nice people and beautiful weather.

  • Great day again, sporting a mild sunburn today with pride. Fun times riding with @T4NY4 et al even when the cobbles took their toll on a spoke, fate had a LBS and a pub nearby. Loving the Lfgss jerseys that put names to faces.

  • Top ride, thanks to Dave and team for organising again! I found the pave particularly harsh this year, and a section of loose brake cable sleeve in my top tube was tinkling away for much of the ride. Good to meet some familiar faces, especially at the Cutty Sark where I spent 75 minutes sipping a very welcome pint of pale ale. I didn't hang around for long at the pub at the end, but made a point of wheel my Klein through the crowded pub garden so that people could enjoy its changing colours in the sunshine.

  • Ah glad you got your wheel fixed, that was indeed good timing !

  • Forgot to say: Big thanks to Dave and @Ivanskavinsky (abstract painting avatar :)) for the company and chat.

I expected more pic dumps here! I have but one! (Phone screen was invisible in the blazing sunshine)

    http://www.lfgss.com/comments/12206590/
    if that helps?

  • Thanks, I see where we went wrong, followed a group of cyclist along the A1208 for a fair while, then head back along the A1209.

  • nice pics, I think you got me going up Canonbie and then coughing up my lungs at the top.

  • Smiioiffffff!!

  • Hi Andy, pleasure and hope you got home ok. Stuart was telling me where I ducked out was just before a real leg burning hill so I was quite pleased to have left as I had to race back to hit the deadline as it was.

  • Hey Luke, it was a pleasure (not Blackheath, though... that was mental!)
You and everyone else made it a great day out in Londons famous London and your bike is ace:) if a bit of a tart;)
Plus... The SS Monstercross grinding up Canonbie Road... Chapeau seriously doesn't cover it!

  • congrats to @mands for royally cleaning up on the raffle prizes

    lovely day out!

  • I won a t-shirt (same as last year!) and two arse guards. Actually, one was the ticket @Laner and I swapped for funzies which is why he got it! Had that ticket won the wheels or frame, that would be another story!

  • Any ideas of the raffle numbers found the two I bought this morning?

  • well the classic was an absolute classic. massive fun on the pave and the hills with the sun beating down on us.

massive props to all those involved in pulling this together. this day has it all - great route, great people rolling it, the GHT, the Paris Roubaix on the big screen, the beers and the cheers. and of course the raffle for ass savers!

big thanks to my rolling crew @Apone, @cornelius_blackfoot and @smiff and the later rolling with @digger and then @middleofnowhere and @Oliver Schick (well, until we started to gain altitude anyway).

  • the boys
