I actually used two of those on the rear brake to get the rear brake far enough from the seat tube. I guess I just need to tighten the screw a bit more, which given its position it pretty tricky.

I did agree with the painter on what colors to use and to do fades of some sort, but not how the fades would need to look like, nor which amount of color should go where. So when the frame came back from the painter, it just looked kind of different from what I had in mind (mostly more pink than I had in mind). It wasn't until I built up the frame and took it out for a spin in the sun, that I got properly excited about the paint.

You need an allen ratchet.

Looks great. You must be getting some very odd looks from people.

Since my last message I have done loads of kilometres on the bike: most of them on my weekly commute, but I also rode the bike at a gran fondo in the Belgium Ardennes. The simple fact the frame is still in one piece makes me really happy. At first I had some doubts how the frame would perform, but right now I ride it just like any other bike.
Below are some shots of the finished build. I switched the Bontrager wheels for a pair of Easton EA90 wheels, because the braking performance of the Bontrager wasn't exactly confidence inspiring. Otherwise the build is pretty much like I planned.

Put some nice tyres on please, it's summer and it deserves them.

The tires actually came with the wheels. The name suggest a rather firm tire, but in reality they ride quite well. For the time being I will keep ride these and when they wear out, I think I will give tubeless tires a try.

Somehow missed this thread. Just read start to finish.
Final result is amazeballs, congrats on going all out with the frame design and paint.
Needs silly wheels of some description. -

Thanks for the kind words.
I actually fitted a set of Spinergy wheels a while back, but they looked horrible (not something I had expected).

Double disc or >>>>>
Rear seat stay bridge makes me think of a spoiler on a chavvy 90's car. Win.

Lately I have been thinking about changing the wheels for something a bit more spectacular. That is why I got crazy yesterday and bought myself a pair of Spengle wheels. What do you think?
-
• #113
Fits the overall craziness of the bike. Please just change the tires to something black.

I kinda like the tires...
Wheels are a big improvement! -

Tbh I like it even with normal wheels. The 3 spokes do add to it for sure.
One of my all time favourite forum builds. -

Yes. Awesome!

Pleased to see one of my favourites pop up again!
Agree with tyre comments. Set fire to them. Wheels look great! -

Great bike a bit different from the norm ,I would love a fixed wheel version .

Just read this thread, awesome bike, spengles fit fine -- but yeah, black/skinwall tyres.

Those Spengles have turned the bike from something that looked like it was missing something to something that looks WILD!!! Looks AMAZING!

Doesn't look to bad with a disc out back either. Shame I don't need a time trial bike.

Changed a couple of parts on the bike recently (Marchisio Tension wheels, Fybre Lite chainrings) and I removed the logo's from the stem, handlebar and brakes.

Got my hands on a Colnago C50 Krono frameset a couple of weeks back. I bought it because it came with Xentis Mark 1 wheels, as seen here below. It was built up with a Dura Ace 7800 groupset, one of my favourite all time groupsets. Althought I had initially planned to sell the group together with the frame, I ended up using it on the bike. So no more Campy Record. Pictures of the new setup to come.

This thing is so incredibly rad. I read this thread a year ago when I only browsed the forum as a non-member and I remember feeling the urge to congratulate the creater of this awesome machine - great job!

Best setup yet, imo. A beauty.
