in terms of function, does a fork mounted, or a headset mounted front canti hanger work better?
ie
or
?
it's a 1" threaded fork if that makes any difference.
and does anyone have one for sale?

Thanks @TomvanHalen.
I'm looking at 10 speed, so 5700, which do have band versions.
Yeah I'm surprised they weren't phased out earlier, why I asked the question in the first place - thought there may be some inherent attribute of the band I didn't know about. -

My mum wants to get my dad a new leather jacket for his 60th but we both don't know who makes high quality leather jackets. Any tips?
He's the kind of guy who shops at M&S for his casual wear, wears Church's, Loake, Bruno Magli, and Paul Smith and if it's the wrong brand or not high enough quality to him he won't wear it. If this sounds awfully pretentious then you'd be right.

Fork mounted is better in terms of reducing brake judder, as the cable run is shorter.

[edit: nevermind, fettled on for a bit and found out for posterity: NO YOU CANT'T. Not without replacing the inner 'pipe' anyway because the bearing cones are not flat (like industrial bearings) but conical on the inside]
Wondering if I can replace the cup/cone system bearings of my Zonda wheels with industrial/sealed bearings and if yes, which. Has anyone on here done this or know?

Aero? No experience with them, but they come up a lot when people talk about leather jackets.

Go to the Triumph shop (motorbikes rather than bra's) and get a jacket from them?

If you machined a new axle and re-machined the hub shell you might be able to modify the hub to take cartridge bearings, but I doubt there is enough metal in the hub to cut away a disc-shaped hole where there was a doughnut-shape bearing interface before.
There's nothing wrong with non-cartridge bearings, unless you hub is shagged, in which case you may as well rebuild the wheel onto a new cartridge hub or new non-cartridge hubshell (re-using your current freehub body etc).

Fork mounted is better in terms of reducing brake judder, as the cable run is shorter.
Right but wrong. Fork crown mounted does reduce brake chatter, but not because the cable is shorter. In fact the cable is basically the same length, it just has more outer covering with a crown mounted set up, but that makes no difference. Chatter is reduced because you have eliminated the feedback between tyre reaction and the distance between the cable stop and the straddle cable. With a headset or stem mounted stop, tyre reaction from braking which bends the steerer changes the distance from the cable stop to the straddle, which alters the brake pad pressure, which alters the tyre reaction, which bends the steerer (or lets it spring back to straight if the tyre reaction is reduced).

I did mean the exposed cable run, but had a 2 year old demanding more food so had to truncate my reply.
Thanks for the full explanation though.
