I don't think ceramic has any positive effect on reliability or durability.
My SRAM bb (also Italian thread) has done fine. I do have an issue with the interface with the cranks. The thread for the self-extracting bolts is also rough and soft, but that's the cranks fault (thanks SRAM).
This shit would never happen with Shimano (probably).
Local shop said they don't have the tool to face the BB shell, might chance it and if things go south I'll have an excuse to upgrade to an Ultegra crank.
