His San Remo win was watched by 200.000 on Eurosport I read in a German paper over Easter. So same for this race I would think.

Eurosport is free-to-air in Germany as far as I know.

Even so I would guess (I watched it in a pub in South London) that on German Eurosport it would now have been Jens Voigt commenting on him becoming Sean Kelly.

It's the first time he's been up there. Stybar, another ex-cyclocross World Champion, has ridden it 3 times and never finished worst than 6th.

Just watched it. Incredible effort from big John.

Probably just the low pressure in a large(r) volume tyre. And the mega watts he was putting out.
