  • Excited. There's a lot of guff about Wiggo and P-R, and build up to it has been poor (results wise) but if he has a chance of winning he can't ride conservatively, he's going to have to bury himself. Can he pull it off?

  • The conundrum I can't work out is this - every other rider in the race knows he wants to win, how does he get away to win? He could do okay in a sprint but realistically for him to win he has to arrive at the velodrome in Roubaix alone.

  • By surprise? I think riders will be wary of him but he won't be heavily marked, or as heavily marked as the more established classics riders. He's going to have to go absolutely balls out, make the selection and then see if he can't attack and then time trial away.

    Chances are he punctures early, chucks the bike away then lurks around the rear of the peloton in a strop for plenty of TV coverage thanks to the following camera bike.
