  • That's hit £400 with a looong time to go, be interested to see what it ends up at.

  • Proper that. Just a good honest track bike.

    ps change the tubs

  • The headset is doing it's best to annoy the fuck out of me, it's either loose or won't turn - what am I most likely to have done wrong when installing it?

  • Slow reply, sorry - no good for me, but thanks.

  • Is the top cover binding on the head tube? Try a slim spacer?

  • That could well be it - are slim spacers for this purpose freely available in the likes of Evans?

  • This^

The split ring that goes over the top of the top bearing may not be poking out enough to push the top cover Clear of the headtube. A wafer thin spacer between the split ring and the top cover will sort this. Its how I dial in my 'slam dat stem' set-ups.

If youve ever bought a Hope headset you probably have half a dosen appropriate spacers.

  • I've still got the (wrong) headset for the Time Machine, sealed in it's bag, somewhere.

  • Really like this build, classy, modern and functional.

What are the bars btw? I need a deeper drop for track and am trying to decide between using track drops and an old stem or narrow compact bars and a ridiculous stem

  • Thanks - they are Deda track drops.

  • Cheers, I thought they might be - not too many options for OS track drops

  • Worth a shot. There is some discussion in testers slam that stem thread about them too, for taking up fractions of a mm different between different bearing covers. It might mention where to get them, but I'd expect its an lbs parts-bin job.

  • I'm using some 0.1mm shims, courtesy of Tester's parts bin.

  • I have loads over these ultra thin spacers. Let me know if you want posting some....

  • I picked up some shims at lunch, if this works I just need to glue the tyres on.

  • Cupcakes- spot on, some shims cured it, thanks!

  • Nah Andys one is older with a 1" HT that Ramirez has now it think. I got this off someone at herne hill who apparently got it off the Dutch development team.

This looks so good now, it deserved to be shown more track time tbh

  • Yeah I know it's not his, Andy's a little man, I meant was it him that inspired dammit to make fixie...

  • No prob. Looking good!
