I think that is all you can do, however DaisyDisk is a great app for navigating your drive and seeing how each directory is used proportionally. Makes it especially easy for finding local app data that is hidden from you but will remain on your drive after you uninstall those redundant applications.
Well worth the money from Apple Store.
