Top tube feels too short to me. I only got to ride it a few times on the track before it closed for winter and have since put the 130mm stem and layback on, which will hopefully allow me to stretch out/get aero a bit better.
Could do with another inch along the top really.

I know its recommended not to, but has anyone tried drilling the Alpina track fork? There's a mounting surface on both sides for a brake but theres like a screw that goes where you would normally stick the brake mount bolt through.

Give it a go...at the expense of your face ;)

I did it and loads of other people have, it's fine.
Just don't make the mistake I did. Do it with a pilar drill not a hand drill, and make sure it's centered properly ha

Does anyone have a picture of a Pre Cursa with straight steel fork?
I am thinking of rebuilding mine with a 90's touch (new paint + straight steel track fork)
Yay or nay? -

Its absolutely fine. Just take your time, use a pillar drill if possible and make sure its aligned correctly. Ive been riding mine with and without a brake for over a year and its worked perfectly

Did it come with blacked out decals? If not, how did you go about it?
-
• #2437
@dglshrn Easton EA30 Aero, bit heavy but much aeros ;)
@Uoeno thanks man I like the wide bars on yours!
@nathwilson22 No it didn't, I was going to order decals from Dolan but £25 seemed a bit steep if you add on cost of clearcoat etc. So I just used an Edding 750 paint marker (around £4). The paint will dull a bit with time so it will be nearly the same kind of black as the rest of the frame, the drive side is still relatively fresh in that picture. So far paint has been holding up well but I only use this bike at the velodrome.

Doesn't look too bad, think I might give it a go on my Pre Cursa. Looks like a gloss effect?
edit: Just re-read, it'll dull over time. Maybe silver would look alright...
-
• #2439
yeah its still glossy because its relatively fresh. Silver would look good I think! I would advise going smaller than 2-4mm (Marker size, that's what I used) if you're going for something other than black as it's quite easy to mess up which you luckily don't really notice with black

In terms of going off the decal? I'm v. clumsy so I'd make sure to mask around them (Idiotproofing)
-
• #2441
yes, would have made a mask too if I had used another colour

Unexpectedly; I actually like that

BTW, you might want to consider splitting. I can't imagine many people will want to faff around with both clincher AND tubular rims.

Why has @lucyh not posted her day-glo PC yet?
-

Perfect as the size is - a shorter stem would make it boring.
Looks about right to me.
