  • Bought this frame from @Vince a couple months ago, and starting to put it together finally (delayed due to moving house - finally have somewhere to fix them up!)
This is what I started with:

and this is how far I am now:

Just found that the crankset I had doesn't fit, so I am looking for a crankset that will fit the Campagnolo french threaded BB that came with the frame. I have a chain that should fit thanks to @Francium87 (if I remember correctly), and cockpit that I actually found on the street (complete with bullhorns). I will keep it single speed for now, and throw an old brake on the back.

I momentarily toyed with a wild lo-pro frankenbike idea, which I may save for another frame, but I will post a pic for your amusement :)

will post more pics when I finish it up (and thanks to @Vince and others who have contributed various bits).

  • The crankset that was originally fitted to the bike was a Gipiemme Strada which has been passed on to @anidel

Since it is a Campagnolo square taper bottom bracket - there will be some ISO / JIS shenanigans happening (I still can't get my head around it). But I would imagine most italian square taper chainsets will fit.

  • The crankset is available and willing to go back on to this bike.

  • Had taken a few more pics Saturday, but failed to upload them properly on imgur, so will have to try again this weekend. With all of the vintage bits I'm having to collect for compatibility's sake, I am thinking of taking this in a slightly different, more retro direction... Probably not enough original retro details for l'Eroica (I've not been before, and only just got excited about it this week after seeing their (new?) video on the site http://www.eroicabritannia.co.uk/

It does feel like it deserves a bit more attention in terms of style than I have been giving, but not sure what to go for. This caught my attention - any other suggestions/ideas?

  • .

  • I made a bit more progress on this bike, and have ridden it around a bit, though I am still not quite satisfied - needs something more on the handlebars (waiting for clear grips that might be the perfect medium between protection and showing off the purple bars). Also, I am not too sure about the cages with straps - I had crank bros. candy pedals on but have since switched those to a fixed bike (this is SS) to allow better stopping power.

As you'll notice, it's a bit of a franken-bike with very exposed seat-post and unsightly 140mm quill stem, but the frame is 53x53 and I am topping 6ft so it is on the small side to say the least...
