This thread needs to stay on the front page.
This is my mate's Cross Check. He's been using it for everything from touring to single track time trials for the last 8 years and was the one who inspired me to build my own. Sadly, he's thinking of retiring it for a Straggler.

But the UK distributor is out of stock of the best Nano's!? Personally I'd go for Clement MSH

Pretty tight! Last time they had pics of this frame the chain rubbed on the rear tyre, hopefully its sorted now.

• #231
Yeah super tight. It was designed for 2.4s, I'm surprised the 3s even fit!

My ever evolving rawland.
The handy sized transportable personal mechanic is quite practical too.

^that looks awesome.
I am planing on building a tourer and have laced a pair of H+Son (23mm wide) rims to a Alfine 11-speed Di2 rear and a SP dynamo hub front. Id like to put big fat tires similar to above on them - would anyone be able to recommend max tire size on 23mm rims and maybe even suggest a good pair of tires? They will be riding all conditions, light off-road but mostly on-road. Cheers

I run Mavic a719s, they are a similar width, and as far as I can remember they will take upto 48mm tyres. Hope that helps. Probably not.

I've run 2.4" Ardents on 23mm rims before, they didn't have the best shape but I'm still alive... Anything larger would be pushing it.
-
• #236
Excellent - I think ill try the 2.4" and see if it works - thanks!
-
• #237
Forgot to mention - they did need quite a bit of air in them to stop them squirming in the corners. I'm not running 35mm rims and the 2.4 tyres have a much better shape and feel a lot better at lower pressures.

^cheers - will experiment and see how they act in corners...might go with one size down to be on the safe side.

Damn I've convinced myself I NEED a Surly Krampus in my life.
Time to put some track bike stuff up for sale I think.Any cheaper alternatives out here?
-
• #247
Genesis Longitude would come to mind...

• #248
Are you after a Krampus for it's angles or the 3" of rubber at each end?
-
• #249
Yeah but they have all sold out!

Both actually,
Does anyone have any idea on sizing of these frames? I can't find any clear information.
I'm 5ft10' with a 30/31" inseam and I'm thinking to go for the small?
Finally! I decent full-body shot of this bike. Wouldn't mind an image of a larger size though.
