  • Going to be an interesting race, how the pendulum swings. Kristoff was a danger before, how he's the most marked man in the peloton. That may make it easier for Geraint in P-R as it was clear he was the rider everyone had eyes on in Flanders. At the start of the season outside of Canc and Boonen you would have picked Vanmarcke to step up but despite a very strong start to the season he's looks jaded, but his DS talked about trying to hold him back a bit in races, be more conservative and it hasn't worked, and that at P-R he's going to be completely off the leash, attack attack attack. I like the sound of that, my pick for the race.

  • I'd agree with that having watched the final 40km of the race again. Nobody really seemed to spot Kristoff moving up to Terpstra's shoulder because he wasn't seen as a danger of getting in a move that far out and they let him go.

    I think he's surprised plenty of people by getting into a break rather than waiting for a sprint. He's starting to to look like one of the most wily riders in the bunch at 27.

    He's already done five P-Rs - sixth this year.
