  • Thanks I may pootle by Jan's place and see if he still has it.

  • Up to you, the biggest difference is not just the number of speed but the hood shape.

If you're comfortable with your current hood, stick with it, if you like the newer hood shape, go for it.

    It won't look overkill, case in point (yes I know it's no Colnago but it'll look equally fine with modern gruppo);

  • Woah, shots fired!!

  • Not for me to say if obsecne or not, look for c40 steel forks as should be unthreaded but usually painted

  • Arghhhh,my eyes!

  • I have really enjoyed this thread! So thanks!

Now I have decided to share one of my Colnagos .. I bought the frame set on Ebay probably five years ago and built it up with old, semimodern and modern parts. And it has been such a pleasure to ride it.

Is someone able to date the frame? Maybe early 90's?

  • @saarf how much did Unlimitedcolors.nl charge for a C40 renovation please?

  • I'd await more informed answers than mine but my gut feel is that you could do a lot worse if you want to but a complete Colnago with very useable parts to enjoy and ride. If, however, you are planning to upgrade the thing (whether to all new parts or all original, or just a nice matching groupset) then by the time you flog bits off you'd have been better off just buying a frame and forks.

  • nice frame, nice build

  • Finished the restoration of a 1984 Super some time ago. Built it up with a modern 11sp Athena group (sorry purists) to have some more comfort. Still has the 'classic' look though! Other parts are Chorus headset, Chorus titanium seatpost, Cinelli SLX saddle, classic Cinelli cockpit,...

  • What are the wheels and tyres Flandria?

  • Well done! Perfect mix.

  • Wheels are Campagnolo veloce hubs on Rigida Chrina rims. Tires are Vittoria open corsa's!

  • Nice blend of retro & modern
    I like the Master Piu

  • Very nice indeed Flandria. Beautiful classic look with all the modern benefits. It must be a joy to ride although judging by the condition and the gleaming white bar tape you're either a compulsive cleaner or only ride indoors! You should be as proud to show it off here as we are pleased to view it. BTW do you have a Flandria? I love their Colnagoesque Columbus SL and the carbons have a beautiful classic look about them too

  • you can get them , bur they are a little pricey

    Choke!!!....Splutter!!!....Gasp!!!!...

RRP £417.95 yours for a mere £349.95 in the sale!

Yes, they are a tad pricey...

  • Keep looking , might take a while
I was looking for an uncut pair for about a year then got lucky on this very forum thanks to @JD exact colour I wanted too ! replaced a flash carbon fork

  • Hi

I don't think it was a lot mate. around 100 euro
    they renovated this for me
    from this

    to this

only downside with them is completion time, they work with Codagex, Giant/Rabobank and had Belkin team bikes pre tour for decor work, so , as private owner, people like us have to wait
if UK based, Windwave are UK distributors/agent, and they may be able to help
I ripped an rd hanger on my pre 96 master and contacted Mike at Maestro-uk.com, proper fella, he recommended Codagex, and by chance I managed to circumvent them and go to Unlimited
this is head honcho Ted Cranen working on the Navigat0r C40 B-Stay, his eldest son Jim is good stuff also(i think they tink I'z a liiiitle bit crazy, but hey! them's the breaks!)

only thing is better to collect in person imho, then you can iron out any differences, rather than post back and forth if something is not to one's satisfaction.
an example of this is in the above master mtb body of work,
look at the seat tube decal facing you on both frames...
the L, N and A and the seat tube on the second image are out of line, heading toward the rear triangle
on a renovation by a firm like this some understandably may take issue, over via post would be tedious, and I went with it rather than take issue

  • good work @tare & @Flandria -Enjoy!

  • Thanks! Pictures are made after only a few kms, that's why it still looks so pristine. But don't worry, it won't be a wallhanger, there is a reason why i chose to go modern!

I do have soms classic Flandrias. You can find some pics here: http:// http://www.pedalroom.com/members/Flandria

I alsof like the modern remakes, although the Columbus one is a bit pricy to me!

  • A lovely collection indeed still my fav of course the Colnago.

  • you can get them , bur they are a little pricey
    Choke!!!....Splutter!!!....Gasp!!!!...

I bought a BLB "replica" for one of my Master X Light bikes (costs 90 euro) and at first sight you don't see it's not a Precisa.
