latex inner
If I haven't completely misunderstood, people are saying that the benefits of a latex inner tube comes from having less energy loss when the tyre is deformed compared to a butyl inner. In that respect tubeless should be even better. Perhaps not the choice for proper touring, but I'm interested in trying it out for shorter trips.

High end tyres are day and night apart from standard tyres, or fit latex inner.
My Elephant is 265mm with 42mm tyres too.
