  • Ah, but that was on my Cervelo P2 TT bike, with a skinsuit and a pointy hat. Rather than a Macinato, shorts'n'jersey and a normal lid. It's all to play for...

Maybe it is. I'm going to try to do Cam CC's first evening 10 tomorrow. If I get the 26.something I expect after a winter of eating and not riding my bike then it is indeed game on.

  • Anyone for H25/2 19th April or H10/22 26th? (Or bank holiday F11/10?)

  • So who do I have to kill in the face with fire to move up the list? I thought you were somehow involved with Alex? Is that not the case?

  • I was going to ride to Paris to see a mate but I'm thinking of saving the cash and racing the H25/2 instead. I want to update my 25 PB.

  • Aero-Coach Aus and Aero-Coach UK are separate companies, same branding and equipment but separate, and I run all the European side of things. Once a few things are sorted there'll be group emails etc.!

  • Used the DF3 in anger for the first time, hilly 11 miler, 85GI. Went great, got up the climbs without going into the red and had plenty left to push on the flat at a nice 110rpm. Lost a lot on the longish descent with a couple of poorly sighted turns at the end of the course, got caught by the guy behind at the bottom but dropped him as the road turned upward to the hilltop finish. Fifth overall, 27.42, absolutely buzzing, needed whisky and codeine to sleep.

  • I was right? You can't have a PB quicker than 56:00

  • Yes, I blame you for phrasing it in an odd way. Nothing at all to do with my being half asleep :-)

  • That bike is coming ;) just got my vuka mounts in the post this morning so the bars are sorted. On the to do list:
    Front fork with brake mount
Decide on 1/8 or 3/32 drive then fit appropriate sprokets. Thinking the latter. Currently on 50x16 1/8 - too spinny

  • Speaking of mounts in the post. I got my Shiv aerobar fix..

  • Now watch those times tumble...

1"? How much steerer do you need?

  • 1 1/8 an about 23cm from recollection. was looking for a wing tt or similar. Currently on wing pista.

  • not sure the ironman bars will stay but the bikes in a transition phase. Were thrown in for free.

  • If you want to get rid of them I'd be tempted for the right price. They're on my list of things to buy for future slvlss activities.

Oh you triathletes and your wicked sense of humour!

  • I have a pair of identical profile/ironman clip on aerobars sat in my box of things I should sell when I get around to it.

ping me a PM if interested.

  • Huh, I've actually been doing that for some time as the drop wasn't enough.

    Well, the more you know.

  • So I went and did my first ever TT. Planning is everything and so I, of course got stupidly lost on the ride in, ensuring that I rode 20 miles for a 14 mile journey to get there, and then arrived slightly late, making sure that there was no chance of a practice lap. I pinned on my number, felt slightly intimidated by the number of skinsuits in use and got a cup of coffee and some malt loaf from the excellent clubhouse, picked up a transponder, and got in line for the start. I asked someone if there was anything I should know before I started my first TT and they suggested "keep to the racing line, you'll be fine. We'll try and shout you when you are finished, but can't guarantee it, so count your laps, you need 11". and off I went. The course is nice. Not pan flat and a nice shape. It seemed very windy. By lap 7 bits of me were starting to say that they would rather be watching Masterchef, but I was having a whale of a time. I finished my 11th lap, came off the course and I could see the chap keeping time squinting to see my number "Oh no, I've come off a lap early@ I thought. "I didn't notice your number come up" he said. We tested it and it turned out that the transponder was dead. I was slightly gutted to not have an official time, but reaally it matters not a jot. My garmin says 10.4 miles in 26 minutes 20 seconds, which I am happy with. It is both better than I thought I could do and also something I think I can improve on. Now, where can I get some dimpled wheels :-)

  • Shoulda picked a classic out-and-back course ;-)

    Well done!

  • Encouraging to hear that! Are you going to the one on the 22nd?

  • The fastest ever UK TT on fixed? Interesting approach to gearing, 53x13 proving a little large #spin2win.
