  • having a minor confidence crisis since my last long run disaster, and have been thinking of revising my marathon target down to 3:30, but a good speed session last night and a kick up the back side from a training buddy has put me back on track.

    I just need to remind myself that I ran 16 miles at 7 min mile pace in the middle of a really heavy training block and was absolutely fine, I've tapered properly for this, so 26 miles at 7min 30 should be relatively comfortable, and even if I blow up after 16 miles then I should be able to drag myself round to beat my PB which is currently 3:30:45 so I'd have to go >9 min miles to miss out on that.
