Just got back from the always splendid Phoenix Easter Classic; sunshine, some very quick riders, and the worlds best date slice at the food stop. 10/10, will ride again and again. 111miles all in.

Finally got enough work done early enough to warrant a ride out.
Glorious, perfect weather. Stunning views from Belvoir Castle, loads of happy people out and about. Was too perfect. Too hot in a Gabba. And surprisingly for me- no terrible roads in the selection!Christ I'm fat though....hills were a chore.

Got out for a wonderful, relaxed, largely offroad ride in the sun with my girlfriend. Don't think she quite coped with the last 8 or 9 miles thanks to padded shorts being too big and being abandoned before we left...
I've never really done offroad, but she's barely ever ridden, let alone do MTB trails, hills, or tackle gravel/mud/tree roots on a relatively heavy slick-tyre road bike. Was really really urgently needed relaxation time for me, while valuable exercise and bike skillz practice for her.
Almost went out for 120 fast miles to the chilterns with KW but think I made the right choice.
Much fun, very chilled, so new sights. Calm. Wow

Me too. Good conditions and really friendly (saw +Doctor_Cake and +Howard) but a late start meant no date slice - sad times. Round trip from Brixton was 100 miles, pretty happy about that.

I only rode out to collect takeaway curry but met a guy in a 2011 Fred Whitton T-Shirt on way back into the estate and we had a nice long chat about that day, other events and just general bike stuff.

Ace, I did this in 2011 and it's a great ride. Organiser works in Ken Fosters Chorlton bike shop local to here, really nice guy.

Someone suggested riding a hilly 100 around the north downs.
I can do that fixed at 72gi, I thought.
Climbs with prolonged sections of 20% suggested otherwise.
Still, LOLz were had following islington CC mamils around the downs desperately trying to keep up with the group on the downhils whilst doing myself moderately proud on the ups. A couple of unridable sections were run, then walked, but otherwise I dun good.
Half time at Maison Du Velo, then proceeded to Dorking where I left the group to do a solo climb of Box before idling home. The group were supposed to climb Coldharbour, Barhatch, Leith, Whitedown and box but the fading light got the better of them and ended up with less miles on the clock than me - 100 give or take a few with 1700 meters climbed.
Easter classic today - weather insanely good, spun a nice ride out with the wife and mates. Good to see @KT_Bee at the finish and briefly at half time. Alas, no date cake either. Bah.

Went out in shorts and no cap under helmet for the first time this year. Didn't feel too chilly during the ride but now my knees hurt.

Went for an Easter mountain bike sesh with my brother. Supposed to be like old times, on Cleeve Hill overlooking Cheltenham racecourse. 10 minutes in I stack it, banged head, broken thumb and bloody arm. 1 hour memory blank and an evening in Gloucester AnE. Great stuff...

Decided to head south aimlessly. Got lost. Got lost again. Found country lanes, ate some food, found some more lanes. Realised it was sunny all day. Found Ditchling. Fuck you Ditchling. Caused much traffic. Great view. Carried on. Found Brighton. Hated crowds. Enjoyed Beer. Good stuff.
Back fucking aches though... -

Yeah, I really enjoy it. It's the third year in a row that @Cycliste and I have done it. On the one hand, I want everyone to know how good it is. On the other hand, I know it's limited to 200 places (due to the space limitations at the pub it starts and ends at) and I want to make sure I get a place...

Annoyed that I was in a weird moody yesterday, planned a ride early doors, had a rubbish night sleep so over slept a bit which through my whole schedule out. Can't decided if I wanted to go or not so sulked all day.

My wife did her longest ride yet on Sunday - just short of 70km around Rutland. She sent me an email this morning saying 'I want to be outside riding my bicycle' so I think she has caught the bug!

Finally found some time today to go for a semi-decent length ride. 50 miles in the sun round the Wolds. More climbing than I've done since moving to York. Knee is really sore now, I'm hoping it's just a case of adjusting cleat position or possibly moving to yellow cleats.
Pic here after all the 2000ft of climbing was done and I started descending back into the valley.
All in all, a fucking gorgeous day out.

Went on a beautiful 80 miler on Sunday around West/North Yorkshire, taking in Fountains Abbey and Bolton Abbey along the way. Absolutely stunning views which my photos will never do justice.

So much great cycling near Otley! Did Norwood Edge a couple of weeks ago, caused quite a stir among the locals

Quality over quantity today.
1km to the beach and back for a swim at Waikanae Beach with girlfriend and daughter. Currently in New Zealand.
Was riding an ancient Humber Sport with wheelchair grey tyres. My brother has more bikes than me.
