You can get thicker spring bars on eBay. Other option is to get shoulderless bars as these sometimes work out stronger, but are a bugger to remove (you size them to be the same as the lug width).

the fattest you can get. had two pairs in two watches for well over 10 years, and I change the starps often :)

Where can I get some super strong strap pins? Like 2mm diameter, with stiff springs for 22mm lugs?
Almost lost my Steinhart at the weekend. Luckily it was on a Nato strap so was saved by the other pin. Still, I'd rather this didn't happen again.
