Is he wearing titty tape under that ludicrous beanie?
-
• #16178
Not tried it yet. Not been release I want try it with. Is it easy? They stay like that?
-
• #16179
It's easy. Just follow the instruction you find online. 5 minute job.
Can't really tell you if it stay like that, since I only did it to my Torsion Integral, which are a bit small, so I push the rounded shape out anyway and the pair of a friend you see above.
Apparently you can use some sort of glue to make it stay in shape, but I haven't tried that. Otherwise you might need to do it again every once in a while.

I've got some midsoles that need repainting... Been meaning to Google...

I painted the mint midsoles on these white a while ago, but the Angelus paint is already starting to show little cracks after 3 wears.
3 layers plus protective one. People already warned me it might not stick.
Different material from AM though, so that might make a difference.

Did u use the specific midsole paint or the leather paint?

I've been thinking about restoring my beater 2001 AJ1s, reckon it's doable?
Pretty scuffed up but would be ace if I could, they'd look great...

Is there a specific midsole paint? Link?

Newish stuff from a chap called glasgowrob - reasonably prolific shoe restorer and NB collector. Not tried it yet, but I don't think a paint exists that won't crack...there will just be good and bad. Hopefully this is good.
TS...u could start by de-yellowing the soles...angelus do a sole bright which is supposed to be decent.
-
• #16187
I don't mind the yellowing so much, the leather has worn through in places though... They'd look terrific shined up... I'll look into it, ta!

That glasgowrob has a pretty big gallery on Instagram, worth checking out, someone decent restores.

Ah, I follow him on IG and saw he started that ER thing, but missed the specific stuff he's offering.
I was impressed by the heel support of some 1300JP he 3D printed.

Thanks, they're the ZX Flux Weave. Absolutely hated the mint laces and midsole, but after changing those and the insoles, I'm really pleased with them.

That timberland x hurache abomination is possibly worse than the Rick x adidas one but it seems pointless to single one out.
Last pair I bought was a pair of eytys. I think it was a kind of protest at the amount of shite they're putting out at the moment. I've pretty much lived in Nikes since I was 12 but they're pushing it these days.
Don't even think it's me getting old as trainer spotting seems to be a dad sport. It's possibly the logical end of capitalism; inducing chronic boredom in your consumers.

Hello.
Reshaping is a question of a few minutes with an iron and free, while repainting a midsole that cracks upon your first wear takes a lot more time and costs money.
To rephrase what I said: even though they've always been painted, they still managed to f*ck this badge up.
