b&d, if you're familiar with Leicas, then you should have no problems with the operation. Just make sure the lens bayonets on and off solidly. That the rangefinder sight lines change with each different lens. That the back has no looseness, and the light seals are good. No smell of damp (fungus) inside the camera body (from storing in a dark and moist place). No battery corrosion. But if its cheap or free, I wouldn't worry about any of that; I'd rip the person's hand off as I take it. Its a great camera, with some fantastic non-Leica lens options.
