If it was me it would be in one of the following places:
- the box where you keep bike lube/grease/cleaning stuff
- the box where you keep computing/AV cables
- next to your hifi, because it's a convenient place next to where you smacked the headset cups out
- the side pocket of a pannier you've not used in a year which lives at the back of your shoe cupboard

I'm trying to find my campag record headset I took off the frame before I sent it away for a respray. Where would it be as it isn't in the bag with the break , handle bars etc ......
