You may know me from my Bio-Bike TT project, which fortunately never got finished. I decided that putting both crappy and okay-ish (we never made super awesome parts) on a broken frame is a retarded idea so I sold the frame. Since that, my collection got substantially bigger and now I have pretty much only polish or 'polish' (more on that later) framesets (with the exception of a Takhion, HVZ Meteor and a Colnago Master TT) that need to be build up with boring parts like Campy Nuovo/Super Record.
This thread is going to be a mess, since I very often change parts between bikes and pretend they're new builds. Anyway, stick around and here are a couple of project that are close to be finished.
This was my most recent build. Romet Super on Reynolds 531 tubes built mainly with polish components apart from brakes, rims, tubs, mechs, saddle and freewheel). It was a little banged up so I decided to sell it. Wheels are build on Campy Victory Strada and polish Pama hubs which have sealed bearings and they'll be used in this bike:
Romet Super ('87) on Columbus SL tubes made for the national team. It was used as a promotional bike and in the Peace Race. It will be built on Campy Super Record (apart from the hubs). What I still need is the front mech, chainrings and hoods for the levers.
I even managed to find original decals from the 80's.
Romet Special on Reynolds 531 tubes, cyclocross version. I don't like the cloth bar tape, and the wheels, so those things will be changed. The Campy Record hubs stay, but I'll put some new rims and most importantly cyclocross tubulars. Ah, and I have the cyclocross Campy Nuovo Record rear mech so I'll put it in there too.
Romet Super on Columbus SL tubes. Coming along just fine, I'll build it up on Tecno 416's, Izhevsk crankset (converted to track) and Deda Piega compact bars. I'm still waiting for the rear Mack hub, though...
Romet Super TT on Columbus Air tubes with a proprietary fork. I really had to try hard to get this one, but it's finally in my room, ready to be painted red and white (it was made for the national team) like this one:
I have the original fork for it but I think that the forkmounted handlebar will be way cooler. For this one I need hoods for the levers and maybe a Mavic OR10 rim, that depends on which wheelset I decide to use. It will be built on Campy Super Record.
Romet Super ('85) on Columbus SL tubes made for the national team, cyclocross version. I bought it without rear brake pivots, but fortunately this problem got sorted out just fine. It will be built on Campy Nuovo Record and Weinmann AG420 (for which I need some small parts). I managed to find NOS soviet cyclocross tubulars that were properly stored for ca. 30 years:
Rigi Velox/OSCA. This one isn't entirely Polish. Rigi bicycles were introduced in Poland through a framebuilder named Oswaldo Cazzaniga who basically just put his own decals on them. Some of them had OSCA decals, like mine, some - CAZZANIGA. This one has a fork that is similar to what Romet made (same forkcrown) but the tangs are bent slightly different, even though the rake is the same as in any other Romet fork. So I assume that Oswaldo replaced forks in some framesets. This one still needs inner chainring, a seatpost and obviously hoods for the levers. It will be built on Campy Nuovo Record.
