^^^seems on the money. Somewhere in a braking zone after a bit of a straight always seems the best bet. Ascari or curve grande for me.

I wouldn't sit in the middle of the straights as they're a bit boring even if there are loads of simple passes - I thought the corners were much more entertaining. Grandstand on a corner with a view of the incoming straight would get my vote.

I would choose turn 1 if possible but should be hard to get. You get to see the start, the first corner, the finish and all the passes in between with the hardest braking point

...and hopefully several cars cannoning into each other at the start.

During the last weekend's GP, whilst talking about the cancelled German GP, the BBC rumoured that Monza might also get cancelled. You might wanna check that it's definitely on before booking anything.

Yeah I know about that - I had booked tickets for the British GP but then we have a work trip to Ibiza that weekend. So I need to re-book and decided Monza was the best bet.

The issue with the other stands is that they don't have covering which if it's super hot or raining will be a PITA as they have metal benches.

I think I'll go for Vedano as it's covered, there's a screen right opposite and you can see the pits

Is it possible that Mercedes turned their engines down, by even a very small percentage, to allow another team to excel, and possibly win, and thereby killing off any measures towards equalization?

I'm always sceptical about the very unexpected.....and that result was more than a surprise. I'm not saying Ferrari didn't deserve their win, but the margin was a bit suspicious.

I'm just interested to know how the FIA could bring in equalisation.

All manufacturers (other than Honda) have had plenty of time to develop their PU's - Mercedes have just done a significantly better job. The fact that they took all the good heads from the other teams might well have something to do with how successfully it's worked out to be, but actually enforcing a measure like that when a season has already started? Highly unlikely.

No. Not a chance. Ferrari have genuinely got Mercedes worried.

Suggesting one team actively let another win is totally absurd. This is a highly, highly competitive business.

The FIA are bringing in more controlled restrictions on fuel flow metering in China by measuring fuel flow in various other locations in the fuel system. So we might see things get a little closer between teams. By how much remains to be seen.

I'm actually enjoying seeing how the Malaysian GP has shut Red Bull up. Ferrari have proved Merc don't have the advantage RB were moaning about and Torro Rosso comprehensively proved it's not just the PU that is holding Red Bull back. They were beaten fair and square by their junior team.

In that case, I never, ever seen a team so happy to have been beaten, and keep remarking how fair-and-square it all was.

I've been a Formula 1 fan since the 1970s. Yes, really. And I have not seen this outpouring of happiness in a beaten foe before. Maybe you're right. It can't possibly have anything to do with sandbagging, and hoping the calls for equalization die off. Unthinkable that they have more in hand......

I'm just extremely sceptical. Toto and Niki could be practically working for Ferrari with their comments. Its all so loving isn't it?

@gridds I might well be new to all of the rules and regs, but how can the FIA bring something in mid-season?

Good point. Rule 5.10.4 of the technical regulations says 'Only one homologated FIA fuel flow sensor may be fitted to the car which must be placed wholly within the fuel tank.' That would seem to preclude putting fuel flow sensors anywhere else.

Technical Directives, as they call them, can be brought in mid season. It's happened plenty of times in the past.
Think off-throttle exhaust mapping, FRIC suspension etc. all changes to the technical regs brought in mid season in the last couple of years. This year already we've seen engine allocation go up from 4 to 5.

So it can and will happen.

You're way over thinking things.
They're just happy with some fair competition.
That's very different to letting another team win. Championships can be won and lost by a single point. No team will wilfully give points away. Especially so early in the season.

It will be interesting to see if Ferrari keep being competitive what Merc willl do with strategies. Last year they had the privilege of being able to give the exact same strategy to both drivers, right or wrong it was, and still be able to do 1-2. If they'll need to differentiate steategies as they did in Malaysia we'll see whinging to a new whole level from Hamilton when he doesn't win IMO.

I've been to Monza. We were in stand 8 which I'd thoroughly recommend. Top speed down the straight braking hard for turn 1 always epic. 9 & 13 also very good.
It's a great circuit to walk around though and just find some good places to view during practice sessions.
Lesmo curves and round. Didn't spend too much time at Curva Grande but spend a session at 22 which was also great. For the race though I would stick wt stand 8.
