  • Washing denim. I've almost fucked a pair of Edwin's, I don't want to fuck anymore.
What causes the fucking shitty lines you see after washing? My machine appears to put them in the same place (it fucked my Carhartts in the same way).

  • Fast spin is what causes it. And letting them sit creased in the machine. Not washing is great in theory but, you know, I have kids and a job and stuff, so infrequent washing is inevitable. Washing cold or max 30 has always worked out fine for me, but I've learned the hard way to keep the spin speed as low as poss and drip dry. Fuck those vertical creases.

Whilst I'm here, a six-month review of my Edwin ED-55 white listed black selvedge, 31x30. I guess they have had three washes. The demin is wearing nicely. Fades are there but not so obvious as both warp and weft are black. But they have stretched in the waist and shrunk in the leg more than any other pair of raw jeans I've owned, and I've owned a few. Wore then with a good inch of turn-up prior to washing. Now they are okay with an ankle boot or chunky trainer, but a bit 'no man's land' with a more trad shoe. Would buy 32 leg if I got the same again. But a really nice work jean which doesn't look knackered too quickly.
