Problem 1, If I have an app open when I lock my handset, after unlocking, the back button doesn't work, keyboard won't appear when tapping text boxes. I have to unlock, go to home screen and back on the app to get it working.
Problem 2 when typing, if I want to delete a line of text and press backspace, when I get to deleting the last letter of a word, it automatically types a word from the end of the sentence I just deleted, so I delete that and then the second from last word appears and so on until I've deleted backwards from the end of the sentence twice effectively. What the hell. so annoying.Sony Xperia Z1 running 4.4.4

How would you stack this against the Moto G 4G? The GSM review puts them fairly close. I'd been planning on getting the Moto G as my next phone in the next few months.

I had a look at one of GA2G's links to the Archos shop,
to find::
'Out of stock! Next shipment second part of May'
which dampned my enthusiasm.
(Unable to find a Bluetooth 3 heart rate montor to pair with my Nokia N8,
so a cheap-ish BT4 Android is on my list of possible purchases). -

Motorola has a way better build quality than Archos.
Yet Archos has 440 ppi, which is pretty amazing for the price range. My Samsung S5 has also 440 ppi and it is the thing I enjoy the most, the font smoothing makes it a pleasure to read anything on it.

Do you meant the v1 4g or v2? Because the biggest difference between that and v1 would be the handset size. Less so the v2 obviously
-
• #15783
^ The v1 4g although I hadn't actually looked at size. Was thinking more about spec and think like durability/reliability etc.
^^^ Looks like it's in stock on Handtec? -

If you've dropped your phone, it sounds like the screen may have a hairline crack on the underside, or on the surface. This potentially interferes with communication to the digitiser.

Pretty certain both are software problems, I've seen the second one before, although I can't remember what changed to fix it?

50 Platinum =/= 50 Diamond.
50 Platinum = BT3 which is where I am with my old N8.

have you tried using a different keyboard? Also I seem to remember it mainly being an issue in Chrome?
-
• #15789
I have no idea what this means :)
-
• #15790
It means something to someone, but unless the abbreviations are universally known, its a bit opaque.

Probably Bluetooth 3.0, which is the version before they introduced low energy. This mains it probably drains your battery if you use Bluetooth, and you can't pair it with devices that require low energy (like most smart gear).

• #15792
Cheers for that.

Is the v2 moto g 4g better than the v1? The v1 was so bad I cried myself to sleep.
-
• #15794
Yes! My xperia z3 does that fucking annoying thing where words reappear after deleting. why? You have to delete everthing twice!
-
• #15795
Try a different keyboard, SwiftKey is good.
-
• #15796
Support very important me thinks.
Motorola was very good so far, dunno about Archos. You may never see ROM update from them in future -
• #15797
What was bad about it? I just bought one.
-
• #15798
+1 for swiftkey, I love it. I think they do Hawkings' text prediction algorithms too which is neat
-
• #15799
Just horrendously slow. I bought it to replace my Nexus 4 and it was slower than the Nexus 4.

I was bored With trying to fix my phone. Half the issues that convinced to risk rooting it are still there. So I've ordered a massive house brick of a ruggedised Smartphone.
Hopefully...
-The big Amoled screen will be good for my kindle books, as my Kindle died.
-The speed and size will make it a decent enough tablet for couch surfing.
-The massive battery, and rugged nature will make a good phone to have on epic rides.
-The Bluetooth 4, and andriod 4.4 will allow it to play Nice With my Garmin 920xt.
-The sweat proof nature and USB adaptor will allow me to use it for turbo training (TrainerRoad, andriod app please!)If it does half of the above it'll be a bargin.

A very cheap full feature phone, for those that need an urgent replacement. An established maker, but no more than middle of the road in performance. Still, its 4G and octa-core, so its not a complete slouch. For £169 its hard to go wrong.
Oh yes, the vanilla version of Kit Kat would be a win.
