  • 6800 Ultegra is just so nice! better looking than 9000DA imo

  • I like Ultegra for its functionality and price but the chainset is a pig.

Ribble now banging out Ti bikes and they look good value as you'd expect. Wonder who's making them.

PX Ti frames were Van Nicholas weren't they?

  • I was originally hoping to change out the chain set immediately to Rotor - but completely overlooked bottom bracket size differences

What's the deal with the Ultegra chain set?

  • Utegra chainset is good. Works just fine. No point changing.
Don't think it's ugly at all.

Full groupset is far nicer than odd parts.

  • Y no horizontal TT tho 😩😩😩

  • Compact geo makes more sense for their market I guess.

  • Because they only need to make 4 frame sizes rather than 12.

  • Yeah I guess, would look a nice frame with traditional geo IMHO

    Market forces though etc etc

  • Garmin Vector S, UK RRP £749, Wiggle "Platinum price" £659.99, Rose Bikes price, delivered, £525.

  • Schnell!

  • Vectors though.... :-/

  • That was an example, it's cheap-street in Euro-land right now.

  • Yeah I just ordered a Giro Atmos for £60 from bike-discount - bragainz

  • Guess where my new mamil friendly cosmics came from

  • Bikeradar classifieds?

    :P

  • I know it's a joke, but personally I wouldn't consider buying anything used and crabon from a stranger, beyond a seatpost.

  • especially a seat-post, @Howard, losing teeth is one thing, but castration by carbon is an eye-wateringly wince inducing proposition

  • I've bought a number of pairs of second hand carbon wheels, all have been fine.

  • Alloy wheels, on the other hand - lets just not go there.

  • It's all calculated risk isn't it.

Used handlebars from eBay is really pushing it.

  • Dunno, never considered that. I mean, I'm 60kg. I can't see myself breaking a post unless it was utterly messed up before I bought it, which would hopefully be self evident.

The crabon posts I've bought from LFGSS have been unused anyhoo. Or so the sellers said.

  • Every set of wheels I've bought have been used for "less than 500 miles", even the set that was a couple of years old...

  • OT, but everyone keeps banging on about the cheap Euro parts has anyone seen anywhere with a good deal on Specialized Romin saddle?

  • 60 k-fucking-g!! buy all the wafer thin stuff you want..

  • Just not a fan of the way it looks. It's also now identical to Tiagra 4700 so well overdue an upgrade.

That said, I ride with one and no problems with the way it works. No point changing it unless you want power or elliptical rings.
