Yesterday while waiting for a light, i grabbed my front brake lever and rocked my bike back and forth checking the headset tolerances. While doing this I could see the OE steel fork visibly flexing back and forth at the crown junction a distance of about 15 to 20mm @ the dropouts. Is this normal? Are these steel forks really "that" flexy? Has anyone had a OE fork fail?
If its not your headset, front brake or tyre causing the movement and fooling the eye then I'd say your fork is damaged. Sounds like a lot of movement!
