I have a 27.2 carbon FSA SL-K in grey going, would suit the camo.

• #703
The ionics would look best IMO.
Or Chinese setback carbon -

I've got a load of the 3T posts, they look nice but are made from fromage du carbon, I would avoid.
-
• #706
but the new one top-level Ionics are sewww pretty. I'm also considering the Deda Superleggero which looks pretty cheap and fairly light, at least.

My experience of the 3T LTD is that using carbon assembly paste and an expensive, high quality torque wrench to get the fastener to 4Nm still cracks the post (in some cases) and always marks the gel-coat.
I used the post because I liked the bars, but I won't be getting another.

I've just ordered the Fizik crabon post, might want to add that to the mix.
The FSA post actually looks alreet on my Caad9.

Thompson, deda or zipp please.

How's your back?

Enve, 3T Ionic 25 LTD Stealth or Thomson Masterpiece?
I have barely used 27.2 layback masterpiece if interested. £55 posted?

Back is improving! About 3 times as many hamstring stretches have been thrown in to my stretching regime, and the results are showing. Rode 60km yesterday without any pain. Hopefully I can drag myself up to 100km solo over the weekend / next week so I can manage Hell of the North next Sunday.
Enve is too spensive, 3T is lovely but cheese and too spensive. The FSA K-Force looks pretty good in grey, despite my general dislike of FSA. Deda Supperleggera and Thomson Masterpiece still in contention.
Does anyone here ride a layback Masterpiece on their roadbike? Is it not ungodly stiff?

PM incoming

All the Thompsons are stiff.
I suggest a dose of HTFU or one of these.

what up my dudes, I'm back doing stupid stuff to this bike.
I have managed, through sheer dumb luck, to fix the problem with my back, so I'm slowly building up my fitness and mileage (kilometerage?) again. This means I am allowed to buy more stupid bullshit. Woo!
Unfortunately, I've been made redundant recently, which is scaling back my carbon ambitions slightly, but considering I'm in shit shape in the middle of the racing season, I'm gunna by some year round bits and get to training.
Ordering some Superstar-built Pacenti wheels this week, with an Ultegra cassette, GP4000 in 25, latex tubes and some ti skewers. Replacing the gross FSA chainrings with a set of Praxis classic chainrings (I prefer the look to the clovers) and getting a DA9000 chain.
Front end is fine as it is, just need to trim the steerer. Stem will get changed out when I've stopped getting flexier, and will have ti bolts and a Tillquist garmin mount.
Arse end is a Ti Romin on a Thomson Masterpiece, which is fine, if sliiiightly uncomfortable. I'm thinking about trying SMPs again, but otherwise I'll get a carbon railed Romin and keep the other one for my tarck bark.
Frame is going to get stripped and sanded, then base layered in black. Black cannondale decals will be applied, and then a lurid, neon pink fade will be applied (a la this hoops job). Decals will then be removed, hopefully leading to the cannondale lettering fading into the darknessssss. I have access to spray guns and a booth etc, but absolutely no background in painting and no chance of help, so it will definitely be a hilarious bodge job. Any advice appreciated.
Last touches will be my LBS sorting out the Yokozuna cabling, and I might touch up the SRAM levers and derailer to have the same pink accents as the frame for dickhead points. THEN I'LL BE FINISHED*.
I hope this will all happen in the next month. Considering the length of this thread, and my chronic indecision, it'll probably be around Christmas before it's done...
*until next year when I want Zipps and a PM and aeros and shit.

Good news about the back problem getting fixed.

back is fixed, getting pacentis, neon pink to matte black fade

dropped my saddle 20mm, angled my Romin down 3.5 degrees, now I can ride 130 with nary a twinge... I'm actually pretty annoyed that it was such a simple fix that no-one I've seen suggested.
bike fitting is a black art and I deny it

I would swap the seatpost to something carbon before changing the saddle to one with carbon rails.

Painting pink over black wont work. You need a white base layer for pink to work well.
Behind yellow, pink is the most annoying colour to paint, the base colour underneath can change the colour of the top coat massively.
To fade from pink to black, you would need to paint the pink first, then the black over the top.You might be able to get the pink to work on top of the black, but you would need a stupid amount of coats.... and lots of coats and fade jobs dont mix. The key to a good fade is to use as little paint as possible.

@hoops please come out of retirement and do it for me so I don't balls it up too bad 👍🏻

Great news about the back; redundant buddies! Also try Specialized Power they have a good trial program.

Ballsing stuff up is the best way to learn a new skill!

Is it a good idea to change saddles when you've just sorted your back pain?
Enve, 3T Ionic 25 LTD Stealth or Thomson Masterpiece?
