Not sure if any of you know the tattoos of Melbourne based artist Miso..
..I think they look a bit artsy-fartsy, and most likely turn to mush in a couple of years, but some of them I really like.. -

Are you going to subscript your nautical woodcarving style tat with "I'm the fucking boatiest cunt in town me"

Fuckin hell its sick!

It's really fucking thick, made the others tattoo look like tiny pencil thin line in comparison.
Kola a real nice chap too.

Less painful in my experience

Mine the opposite, I find thinner needle better than a heavy thick one.

Hey tattoo thread - your advice/input would be welcome here..
I went to King of Hearts in New Cross back in October for a piercing and was some impressed with the attitude and staff there, and recommendations from Dublin Kev in this very thread, I ended up having a discussion about a tattoo I've wanted for a while which in turn led to me actually making an appointment and putting down a deposit for a custom piece and appt made for mid Dec.
Mid-dec comes around and my requests for preview of artwork are ignored. Manager finally admits the artist hasn't done anything but says "we'll come up with something on the day"
Erm - no, so I re-schedule again to yesterday. 30 mins before appt I get an email. Not even a phone call saying artist is unwell and apols for short notice etc etc.
I've made another appt for a sat afternoon in May at 4pm, yet when I 1st talked about the piece I was told it would probably be an all day affair as it's dot work but now I get an appointment at the tail end of the day?? and the 3rd attempt?
Am kind of tempted to ask for my deposit back as so far they haven't exactly endeared themselves. I know tattoists are a disorganised bunch but still! On the other hand, I really like the piece and if the tattooist really was ill...?
What you thinking tattoo thread?

I wouldn't get tattooed in anywhere I felt uncomfortable or by anyone who had made me feel uncomfortable. I reckon consultations are as much about seeing if you get on with an artist as chatting about what you want.
It's pretty poor service they've displayed there, I'd have reservations to be honest.

I would look for a different place. Costumer service has little to do with artistic quality but saying "we'll come up with something on the day" doesn't inspire much confidence in how much they care about your tattoo.
You want something you can look at a few years down the line and still love it.
