Thanks. I did that long ago, like 2 years ago. Is this a "lighter won't help you"statement or do you refer to the short wheel section over there. I guess it's the first.
I know all that stuff, and I know, that I won't feel a real difference when the bike i 500g lighter.
This is not because i want to go faster, or even have to go faster.
This isn't even a bike I need.
This is about fun. So I will build lighter period -

This is about fun. So I will build lighter periodYou should build the bike you need instead of hunting to rid the odd grams. You'll have more fun in the end. But you know, that's me and what I think. Please proceed.

Slow progress with this.
Another fork made it. Full carbon, straight blades, glossy UD finish. Better looking and cheaper for 50€ at ebay.
The saddle is a Selle Italia SLR (Titanium rails?) which i stripped, the top was fucked.
For the tyres i went for Veloflex Master in 25mm
The Thomson seatpost might not make it, as it got some small dents but the clamp will.
Crankset as planned SRAM S300

Re the wheels, it might be worth asking on the wheel building thread over on WW. Even with your low weight I'd go with 28h on the rear. Plus they might have some cleaver ideas.
Re non-Shimano disc-hub for fixed gear, I think the best option proposed was using a light weight lefty front hub with a custom machined axle. But it's probably easier to just buy a standard novatec rear and pair with a light weight road front (there's a wide BHS one that should keep the front a bit stiffer at low spoke count). Ultimately you're not starting with the lightest frame, so is it worth being too exotic on the wheels?
Stripping the paint is a cost efficient way of saving weight, plus cutting the seat post.

Actually i already reconsidered the xr-200 rims. After thinking about going for Archetype for the look, XC-279 for the width and xr-270 for the compromise finally the XR-300 made it.
laced to 18/24 CN Mac 424 spokes. This build just gives the most bang for the bucks I think as cnc-bike.de is selling them fucking cheap at 39€.
In the meantime I made a spreadsheet with the full build

You're 191cm and weigh 60kg? You must be pretty damn skinny!

Should be pretty fun. I love Dolan precursa

I'm the same height and 40kg heavier and I'm not fat - serious difference in build!!

That fork looks very similar to a Chinese carbon job I got off of eBay. Could you let me know what the brake mounting is like? Mine work, but it's not been drilled perfectly in line so the brake doesn't sit quite 'square' on the fork.

The drilling on mine also looks a little off, I can't test it until the brake arrives. Until now I thought it is the shitty coating causing it. I'll keep you posted.
Some more parts arrived and the weight went up some grams, as the claimed weights where to low. Pics to follow

I thought the same. Was going to go at it with a needle file at the weekend...

Like the shape of the Ritchey Evocurve, though not lightweight at 290g

Why's everyone going mental over a 64kg bloke? It's underweight for the height but not "scary" lol

Something new to show off? :)

I'm just muscles and bones, that's it.
That little Easterbunny delayed everything. I got all parts except the correct spokes for the front wheel. So the whole build will take some extra days. The backwheel and drivetrain is all sorted. All weights will follow later

All build up except the front wheel. Until it is ready i installed a cheap Shimano RS-10 wheel in the front. When the front is ready it will sum up to 6,9kg
Just a mobile-picture from todays short commute. Better pictures to come.
The saddle was to low at this pic and it will loose some spacers when I have the position set.
It is a rocket!

The drilling angle is wrong horizontally as you can see below. The brakepads almost hit the forks. Ignore the flat tyre.

Awesome build and great great photos!!! Thanks a lot for sharing!! I ordered my precursa couple hours ago. Mine will be 7,7Kg, size 54. 1700g wheels with Archetypes. I have the kimlins xr200 in my road bike. Dope rims, so light, but too weak and hard to build, I wouldn't use them on a fixed gear, although you are 15kg lighter than me, so you should have no problems.
Edit: Updated part list
Just another Pre Cursa build
Just another Weight-Weenie build
I'm 191cm / 6"26 with just over 60kg, so while I need an xlarge frame with that extra weight i can build light wheels to counter it.
I'm planing to build up a Dolan Pre Cursa with a limited budget under 7kg.
I already got the frame and headset from Dolans sale section. I will ride this bike for shorter and faster tours outside town on small roads. I got a townbeater and a long-distance Randonneur/Cyclocrosser.
So no skidding (->Front Brake), no streetfights, no sidewalk jumps.
Frame: Black Dolan Pre Cursa 60cm 2020g with Alpina Seatpost clamp
Headset: Alpina 60g
Plans:
Wheels: Kinlin XR-200 Rims (380g) to Novatec X-light front hub (78g) and Novatec/CNC trackhub (252g) on the rear. I aim for 20 spokes in the front and 24 or 28 in the back. With DT Revolution spokes this should give me a wheelset around 1400g.
Did anyone ever rebuild a none Shimano disc-hub for fixed gear use? Or is it possible to ride fixed (without hard skidding) with 9mm axles?
Fork: Corratec Full Carbon Road fork (344g)
Stem: Rose OSC around 100g for 26€ is hard to beat
Front Brake might be a SRAM Rival, around 150g for a pricepoint around 25€ sounds good.
For the drivetrain I'm planing with a SRAM S300 set. Omnium is lighter but 1/8 chain and cog will suck this up. The slimmer chain just wins.A used SRAM RED with new chainring might work, but is hard to find for a good pricepoint.
I already got a older saddle with 150g, might stick with this.
So I need some advise for a light compact drop bar, Bravelevers (Hoods!), a seatpost (might aim for carbon) and chain.
