Just saw this. Awful news. He looked to be ready to kick it up a gear too. I can't imagine a recovery would be possible quick enough to be within striking distance of KV, although obviously he's not guaranteed to get through the year uninjured either. Must be a really tough decision to make now - get back on the bike ASAP and aim to beat Tommy's record, knowing it won't be the world title unless KV drops out, or try again next year and probably be aiming for a much higher record set by KV.
