  • David I liked your article.

  • His proto-roadie, ex-fixeh douchblog is shitty. This geezer spent his youth geeking out over priceless mountain bikes in sticky mags. Probably a nice enough guy but I hope they didn't pay him to write – he's not very good at it.

    #friendliestforum

  • Thanks @zaurbek

  • I felt like going back to 1986 with "lo pros are for the velodrome"

  • Yeah, can you even go on the velodrome with one now a days?

  • For fun/training, probably.

    For competition, nope.

  • Cool, that's fine but kinda tears his point apart.
    Thanko

  • I didn't say they should be raced on the velodrome, just that they belong there not on the street. I do think they look stupid being ridden around London. I like that you need to ask someone if you're allowed to ride the velodrome on one in order to pick at the article, spent a lot of time riding your fixie? I just noticed you're building up a roadie low pro, sorry if I offended your new build ;)

  • Hello,
Yes, I spend quite a bit of time riding my 'fixie' - only in quotes beacsue I know I'm not allowed to use that word according to the article you're championing.
Second of all the point you said that lo pros belong to the velodrome is just wrong: there are plently of TT lo pros clearly not for use on the track.
Again, yes track lo pros belong to the track but along with all track bikes so I'm not really sure what point you're trying to make.
Lo pros looking stupid is fair enough though an opinion at most so counts for nought.
I only asked as I don't ride a lo pro ATM and don't spend much time on the track so wasn't quite sure. Ive heard that some places don't even allow you onto the track with lopro and bullhorns so wanted just to clarify that before jumping in to things and getting a load of facts wrong cough splutter.
Spend a lot of your time thinking? Haha!

Sorry for the lengthy and hostile post but felt it was necessary.

  • Let it go dude.

    He's just baiting.

  • It was written as a joke stop taking yourself so seriously. I know this forum is well known for being hostile, I posted on here as I thought some would see the funny side.

They are just bikes, ride them. Feel free to pick holes in the piece I'm really not bothered. It's all for laughs, I think it's great how active this forum is and always has been, it's been making me chuckle since 2007.

The LFGSS members always criticse people builds and post photos of the best builds. This is the reason I posted here, I knew that the school playground name calling would commence but kids will be kids. Hope you all have a great day, I'm off to ride my bike. 👍

  • I'm off to ride my bike. 👍

    Now that's controversial.

  • Get a life you dorks. Yeah.

  • Apologies, I realised the op was a joke but failed to see that in your previous comment.

  • I'm generally interested in what the members of LFGSS think and you guys clearly have a good idea of what is good/bad, so in your eyes what's a definite no when building a fixed gear? Double aerospoke?

  • Freewheels.

  • Try not to kill innocent people in the proces

  • any coloured chain or tires (especially if to match elsewhere on the bike) and any of these pedals (bar the first and last)

  • Top trolling... 27/10

  • The article was a little well worn but he seems like a nice bloke.
There are bigger problems out there. For example, people who take an Aeropress with them when they go bicycle touring.

  • People who take an Aeropress with them when they go bicycle touring.

    You wanna fucking go??
