  • The only thing I can say about partial refund is that it might not work, it hasnt for me in the past. Ive had to send the whole thing back etc. and it really wasnt worth it. Just claim for something reasonable like £50? explain thoroughly that its for parts bought etc and you should be alright.
Just do it asap as it can drag out for weeks via paypal

  • wait up. as i understand you paid 122 quid for a fresh paint track frame?

i understand the problem but for the price ild just shut my jap and sort the issues myself.
he put up a similar frame for 400 quid so count your blessings and

  • meh to be honest, it's not really about the money - more about principle, no matter how much of a "bargain" it was, the buyer still reserves the right to receive the item as described, no?

Plus the listing ran on auction, not on BIN, so he shouldn't really be complaining about how much it went for in the end, as he coulda set a reserve price to manage his losses

But tbh it all depends on @Timbre n what he wants (me) to do

  • 26.2 or 26.6 seatposts were common on french bikes, so the threads could actually be french, both BB and forks.

  • the principle is you got a bargain. the bumps just get a little larger now.

tbh im not a 100% its a dutch rih. only found this one which kinda resembles it:
    http://www.pedalroom.com/bike/rih-track-18307
but the rest all have campag dropouts.. and 26.6 doesnt sound like quality tubing. any info on that?

anyway, you got quite a nice trackframe with fresh paint for peanuts but it has a couple of issues. deal with it.
otherwise send it back and the seller will put it back up for 400 quid.

  • ^^its probz that. whoa shocker, polish seller taking the piss. (casual racism)

the question still stands, are you keeping it and sort the issues or send it back.

let an lbs determine the threading. if it indeed is french its deffo not a rih amsterdam and you could send it back to poland.

  • ok i now reread and i sound a bit unnuanced.

yes the seller is taking the piss. it's probz not a rih, deffo not an amsterdam, and by the sound of it earlier some kind of french track iron. do the homework re threading at your lbs.

    then the question is;
    a) the seller took the piss, im sending it back because of principle. seller sells for 400quid to unsuspecting mug on ebay.
b)the seller took the piss, im chancing for a refund (which he'll never do because he thinks he can sell it for 400 quid), im sending it back because im not getting some. rest see a.
c)the seller took the piss. i got a fresh paint track frame for 122 quid. ill take it as is despite seller taking the piss because it was a good deal and overcome my principles in the dirty reality and suck up the shit that comes with it.

ild try to do c. quickly. if it seems too much of an effort. do a.

  • @Rodolfo think you might be battering into this a bit strong tbh ha!

Ebay seller is a douche shouldn't be selling mislabeled stuff and then getting shitty when someone complains that the information was wrong. I will probably have to get another headset, seatpost and bottom bracket so am out like £50 which sucks a little bit but I will get over it.

@uoeno if you can easily get some money back from PayPal then great, if not then no worries is all good.

Also freshly painted with shit paint.

But I'm gonna keep the frame, I like it. Probz not a RIH but I didn't buy it cus it was. Gonna put pink odi's on it and smash it about...

  • Doesn't seem to be 26.6 and 26.4 wasn't even close to fitting.

My mate has one of those measuring thingys so will use that and figure it out (Y)

  • my apologies. i guess this time changing thing has strained my biological clock and i'm a bit grumpy.

i think you are right on the uh, money.

i could even think those pink odis gonna be a good idea..

  • No prob man!

It looks sick will put a pic up whenever I figure out the stupid headset

  • As we have been talking about it so much :)

Anyone have any ideas? Is it a RIH? Is it frnch? Is bottom bracket french? Is ebay douche a douche? What size headset should I get it the tange one don't fit that well? Who will win the superbowl? Awnsers on a post it

  • looks nice tho, whatever it is.

  • Waaaa dat Special ed !

  • Rodolfo is DoucheyPolishEbaySeller007, AICMFP

  • Frame look rattlecanned.

    I hope it's not a Peugeot.

  • ^ I'd wondered that, but fork rake/shape/clearance look too Track, so probably not a "track-ends + brazing torch" scam

Like drøn said - a nice looking frame whatever it is

  • The track ends look like the ones Gitane used on their pistas. See if someone has a french bb and headset and try it on. It's a great looking frame whatever it is. I've got a salsa stem and a 1990s flite that would look bangin on it

  • Anyone have any ideas?

    It look more of an entry level track frame that's destined as a hired bike, like the old "Harry O" hire bike from Herne Hill, nothing fancy, do the job, etc.;

  • Maybe the Austrian RIH?

  • is the saddle the original ones?

  • Probobly a french track fram with rih decal set, i doubt an austrian RIH would have a french bb.

  • ^^ lower harry O photo looks familiar - wait a minute, that's my spare bedroom!

  • My thoughts exactly. Trackends look French, I once had a Gitane with those trackends and a strange seatpost diameter (can't remember what it was. 26,8 or something) Lugs look a bit DDR or even Russian (Rekord, check out this old thread: https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/180194/)

    Def. not a Dutch RIH.
