isnt the saying: "train heavy, race light"? i reckon you could buy something (half) decent second hand on here and save the costs of flying your bike back and forth. question is if that bike should be a track bike though, because although cycling a track bike is good for your cadence, i reckon you'll have to get used to the race bike and freewheeling again which doesnt sound ideal in racing conditions.
my 2p: buy a road bike for training. if you have extra cash, buy a track bike for some fun training and city riding.
