Thanks all for your suggestions re. Woods. We went with Swinley and it looked great and not too busy in a quiet off the path spot.
Next problem:
Does anyone in Brighton or London and I can travel as last resort, have a MacBook pro with FireWire 800 I can use for a couple of hours today?
Where can I get an eSata cable in Brighton today?
Will a thunderbolt to FireWire converter work as well as FireWire 800 to 800 or are there likely to be compatibility issues?
Problem: I have a rented REDmag 1.8 station which has FireWire 800 x 2, eSata, mini sub, 5v dc in and some proprietary power to other device inputs.
It's not showing up on my win 7 laptop meaning I can't get the footage from my 4 x 64gb REDmags. It showed up on an old Macbook with FireWire belonging to our DOP on the shoot but he lives in London and I'm in Brighton. He just used a fw 800 9 pin to 9 pin with no additional power supply.
I've tried FireWire 800 9 pin to 4 pin with no power and the light didn't switch on.
I added a powered mini Usb and the light appeared but doesn't show card mounting.
I could:
Buy a different 9 to 4 pin cable in case mine is defective.
Buy a new MacBook but they don't come with FireWire any more - hence suggestion of converter.
Buy an eSata cable.
Buy a 5v dc cable.
However my options are limited as I have a flight to catch tomorrow lunchtime and need to courier the kit to the rental house first thing in the morning.
Thoughts?

I'm afraid I can't help with any of that, good luck wih it.
My question- where is the best place to buy 7710 cranks in 165mm, pref with chainring and bb?
-
• #67305
Seems only Velodromeshop carries the 165 length - the chainrings are cheap from the second hand njs shop on ebay.

Velodromeshop

re post 67401:
Mini-Usb connected to a 6 year old netbook.
Hilariously slow but it's working.

Can anyone recommend a cheap custom jersey manufacturer? I'm looking to do a really small run (10-20) and I'm not too bothered by getting great quality, but I realise it's pretty low numbers so will probably be expensive whatever the quality...
-
• #67311
Do you want it manufactured or just custom printed? Your local screen printer will usually print onto a DHB or similar.

Cranks ring and bb?

Can I watch a sky box office event without sky tv? I have sky broadband and access to freeview at my folks, any of these an option?
(mayweather pacquiao if you're curious)

Yeah

Small runs are not usually cheap.
Champ Sys are geared up for small runs (and kit and prices are ok).
Inverse are also a bargain, but top-end kit but min orders might be too high.
Try Kalas too. They've always been cheap but have just invested loads in new things (and they support uk racing).

I shall have a good look when I get off this train.
Now- DA/Easton seat post, but what stem?
-
• #67317
Yeah, like I said, I wasn't too hopeful to find anything actually cheap, just cheaper.
Thanks a bunch for the tips, I'll see if any of them fit the bill.

I might look into this if I can't get people to stretch to pay for the custom jersey, cheers.

Is there a specific name of the handlebars seen on the early lo pros like this:
Similar in shape to the bars on the takhions and rossins with stems on the forks under the headtube:
Disimillar in shape to the cinelli la84s and the Moser TT 51.3 things due to their earlier rise along the 'flats' (?) Of the bars.
-
• #67320
The first pic is probably a chopped and flopped road bar, the bars on Тахион and similar would have been custom bent to suit the individual frame designs.

Best options for cheap/Chinese carbon seatposts? Hong Fu? My alu 3T one has bent and they won't replace it, so fuck buying from "real" manufacturers tbh.

• #67322
I recently bought a 3T Funda copy off of eBay for £12 delivered. Took about 2 weeks to arrive. No problems to report apart from the clamp is fucking frustrating.
or search for Hylix seatpost - They seem to get positive feedback

• #67323
Thanks. And I'm guessing the latter bar is hard to come by.
-
• #67324
They do look good, though I possibly want to avoid side-on clamps for total rail compatibility. Cheers.

Does anyone else have a setup similar to this?
Would like to see some examples of bikes with track fork ends and a derailleur
Thanks - I'm a fan of the 260 stems. The seatposts seem to be either el-cheapo or crazy money. Nothing really in between.
3T stylus layback and the stealth stem looks like it could work. Sigma seems to have some fair prices.
Any opinions on the Fizik kit? Seems nicely understated and can be had significantly under RRP. @umop3pisdn?
