So...
WW and MJ agree to play at HH today. MJ have to call up a sub or cancel on the day. Sub called for is the one that WW (and many others) have seen as innapropriate due to skill level and having subbed for lots of other teams. So no sub which is fair because there are rules that everyone signed up to (by playing the league) that effectively stop Beagle subbing in for this game and defends westways point. Also, for MJ to cancel on the day of a game that they had agreed to play is very poor form and super inconsiderate to the other team.
Therefore WW should surely get the forfeit unless the game can be replayed. As the game is so important to the outcome of the league both sides should be allowed to get the time to replay it if its possible.
Also next time, both teams should try and arrange at least 1 ref...

in all fairness beagle has played for us before and beagle himself has said on more than one occasion that he doesnt think hes as good as shane, therefore it not being a tactical advantage for us! westway and kev in particular have hardly seen shane play, not nearly enough for them to comment on like this.
as for the cancelation its not like people couldnt be bothered or someone ducked out because of the rain, it was a real life cant get to london problem. as much as we all hate to admit it, polo doesnt come before life/work and this was an issue that thoroughly covered that point.
We are more than happy to reorganise, but like weve previously said its going to have to be a weeknight. therefore at newington. which kev has said he wont do.we did give a fair few days notice, its not all our fault that someone couldnt come ref. Dan was coming from cambridge with shane today before the issues im sure he would have score kept and ref'd if kev would have been okay with that too!

So what's the upshot here?
1) Jokes have an out-0f-town player who couldn't make it to the scheduled game.
2) Jokes attempt to use Beagle as a sub against the wishes of Westway and without consulting the M-commm, and so Westway refuses to play?
If the foregoing is correct, here is the M- Commmm decision:
1) We are wholly unsympathetic to any problems an out-of-town player has in making it to a scheduled game.
2) Beagle would be an ineligible sub. If no other subs available, it should have been played 3v2.
The easiest solution would be to allow a rematch. We are willing to allow one so long as it can get scheduled within the next ten days. Both sides are going to have to be more flexible regarding when to play (weekends or weekdays) and where to play. I want to be cc'd into the scheduling discussions -- this is a requirement.
If this game can't get rescheduled, we'll make a decision based on having a conference with one rep from each team to get info and weight it all up.

Even if Shane had made it, the match wouldn't have been played, there were no ref available. (Didnt read Miles' response that Dan was with Shane)
I was never approached as a sub for this game until this morning (which I would have ruled myself out since I am carrying an injury and it was an 11 am start). I did troll Kev about subbing in the weeks leading to today, but he missed the obvious and made it an issue.
Last but not least, Kev is infamously adverse to playing in wet conditions, would he had played if there were 2 full teams and a ref? Hmmmm... ;)
Also this (added after reading Miles' response):
westway and kev in particular have hardly seen shane play, not nearly enough for them to comment on like this.

I've always assumed that everyone has my number so they can text me in cases like this -- at least someone at each game should. I have Kev and Miles's numbers, e.g.
Anyway, pm me if you need my number and next year the we should make sure everyone has the number of the league manager.

Thanks to Chukker and Ben for looking into this. West Way is open to reschedule yet another game with Much Jokes. I have pm-ed you in our schedule discussion.
Thank you Beagle for offering to ref our game today!

For the record, chukker and max are the m comm, I only come into it if they can't agree

I'd like to point out Kev played in the rain in Westways game against IPA.
It was the best he's ever played.

• #766
Lolz. Don't feed the beagle troll Jimmy
-
• #767
Oh I'm just jabbing at Kev. Beagle doesn't need feeding.
-
• #768
There were no checks from IPA and he didn't dis any of IPA players prior to the game did he?
With both teams still in the title chase, I expect checks to fly even without the trash talking. Let's do some pemutations, Kev hates checks and wet surface, Checking + Wet conditions = ??? -

Here is the final league table for Division I. Congrats again to Party Time for taking the Cup and to everyone else for playing. Patches will be delivered to those who completed the league at the End of League Party.

I've updated the league table for Division II also.
I'm missing scorer stats for: Westway v House Party.
Did Clerks v Much Jokes play? I seem to be missing stats for that.
Much Jokes v Westway is being rescheduled.
Did I.P.A Superbrew v House Party play or is it scheduled?
I'd say if anything, get more aggro.
