Why didn't you get security at the club to help?

My girlfriend had a cocktail too many and was crying and almost being sick outside. I had to leave in a hurry and in the circumstances I decided that the coat and keys were less important than getting her home.
I did think though that I'd be able to pick it up the next day but unfortunately not. -

So lock removed. Gonna get another one. Will just get another kryptonite unless there is anything better or as good for the same price? Sub 40 quid

This begs the question, why not integrate a key into the quick release?

The asakiltt lock is reduced to a tenner at the moment. Just bought two, one to replace the girlfriend's lock which has imploded and another as a backup for when I leave my lock at work. Will report back when they arrive.

Nicely done. What's the disc lock?

My housemate is involved with this project, was coming over here to post and you beat me to it!

" in-house testing has proven that it takes well over five minutes to cut or break the strap and lock. This exceeds the highest level of security rating awarded by the independent testing and certification houses for security products."
Interesting idea. I would like to see some independent testing done. Also more information about the "innovative new materials"

"It may resist attacks as well as a traditional D-lock, but since it looks like it's made of fabric, surely every passing thief is going to want to have a try? In other words its novelty value could attract unwanted attention, unlike a boring black D. "
Interesting idea also from the comments. IMO lots of the security value from the Fahg is how impossible it looks to get through even if it isnt. Would also like to see how the litelock fairs against power tools.

The lock body allegedly involves Squire and we sell a lot of their stuff so we may be able to find out more about it. I have asked. We would potentially be interested in it if it really is a good and useful compromise between weight and security. I suspect it won't belong in this thread, but perhaps as a secondary lock it may have some advantages. I definitely remain to be convinced as I for one would want to have a go at it to see how it fares with basic tools used forcibly.

It looks great, especially the two locks one key that can be double up is a great point.
However please pass onto you housemate, before he gets my money (which I'm very tempting to drop), I'd like to see some independent testing, and I'm curious how the lock would fair if you stuck a car jack in the middle of the loop, i.e. I'm thinking the weak point is possibly where the lock attaches to the belt.

My housemate wasn't involved in the design, just the website launch and marketing etc but I will pass on your thoughts.

Any suggestions for a small easy to carry lock that will lock my front wheel to my downtube?
-
• #2568
@photoben one of these, it's kinda heavy but smallish so not that heavy.

Cheers. Need to pop to Decathlon tomorrow anyway.
-
• #2573
Fair enough. How on earth is everyone else charging £50-60 when Decathlon are nearly giving them away?
I'll be getting myself one of those too! -
• #2575
I think it may be different from the £50 - £60 one. That's shown as Sold Secure Gold whereas the packaging on the Decathlon one has a Sold Secure Silver image.
It could just be an older model, the Kryptonite Evo 4 seems to have moved from being silver to gold without any noticeable difference.
I've got a lock that works but no key that works.
I know not strictly in the right place but I don't know where to ask.
I went to a work night out and long story short, some douchebags started on me for trying to retrieve my jacket from their table and I left coat and keyless. Nothing handed in at the club. Brilliant.
My mum posted the spare keys down 1st class on friday and here I am in wednesday with no keys so safe to say I've had some pretty shitty luck and I'm stuck with mine and my girlfriends bikes locked up in our apartment building with no way of releasing them, Its costing me a bomb to commute while my bike is out of action.
Does anybody have a tool I could borrow to release the bikes?
Its a Kryptonite mini 7, its indoors, I can prove both bikes are mine etc
Hackney Central
Would be hugely appreciative!
