Or Red?
-
• #22728
I will never own a red car... or white for that matter!
-
• #22729
I've only ever owned red cars
-
• #22730
There's too many grey/silver cars out there.
-
• #22731
Although on my 2nd consecutive silver car now...

you should get a ferarri polo shirt.

Ha.
My brother has one of these (including the red calipers):
Sigh.

I could wear it with the collar popped to display my individuality.

• #22735
Red makes me think of the poverty-spec GTi
-
• #22736
don't get resale grey, ffs.
-
• #22737
In my case Volvo only made ~180 850R's, and the vast majority of those were red.
I bought the best manual car I could find and it happened to be Guards Red.

i wish they still did the dark green metallic colour that they did on the mk2 gti's. (oak green?)
im leaning towards midnight blue to be honest.

I bloody love red cars, was talking specifically about the new Golf
-
• #22740
In fact if anyone's got a mint condition low-miler Mk1 MX-5 in red for about £500, PM me

some of the cars at the weekend...

Car has been perfect.
Not sure about the driver. B-)
Running gear is rock solid. 2.0 TDI FWD so not that quick but enough for Surrey traffic jams. Speaking of which, DPF something to look out for on TDI. As had to get it remapped and thrashed to clear. Few scrapes and dents (styled one of the rear doors into a parked car) Apart from that all good. Expect TFSI or Quattro to be a bit more lively. Fits anything in back including bikes, fridges, kids etc B-)

Thanks Ordinata.
What age and mileage when you got it? -
• #22745
Mine is a 2008 B8 with 47k on the clock new. (Now 63) Is TDI tho so hopefully just run in liek. First year of the new shape, which they havent really changed. Is manual, some preference fo auto estates these days. Oh yeah got cam belt done, now pads n tires. Will run it to dust. B-)

Mate has 3.0 Bimmer TDI Touring which he adores. (Also midnight blue) I found cockpit a bit more human in Audi. Not sure of spec on Quattro tho.

• #22747
Still can't get the quattro to come unstuck, even on shite tyres

All the German cars I've owned have been in variants of blue. I've owned a few Fords (standard for where I was brought up) and they were in Henry's favoured black and red too.
The E30 is Macau Blue which looks like a purple in some light, dark grey in other light and black or navy at night.
The GTI is navy blue - chosen primarily because every cunt here has got a white or silver car and I'd hate for the missus to lose the fucker in some of the vast car parks.

Just had a call from the mechanic, new turbo arrived, he's fitted it, apparently he had to re-route the rad-to-block water pipe to account for the new compressor housing, and also (this was a surprise to me) the new turbo came with a piston type BOV that vents to atmosphere rather than a re-circ valve, and it's a lot bigger because of this.

I knew I read someone was looking for an MG on this thread :)

Midnight Blue... my dad was very close to getting his Sirocco in it but found a bargain used in black. It's the best VW colour IMO.
It's a popular name too as my 2 series is in Midnight Blue:
