Pie plate is very useful when you brought the bike from an incompetent bicycle shop that didn't set the derailleur limiter properly.

Get a Ritchey WCS -17º stem in "wet" black. It'll look boss.
-
• #100390
^^ Maybe buy it from a proper bike shop then?
Or spend 5 minutes learning how to set the limit screw on a derailleur yourself....

took the lathe out for a spin today and converted my 105 headset to threadless. i have never seen an expander like the one i got in my forks (it's the first 1" i see, so that might explain things) but the integrated stem cap wouldn't have worked with my syncros stem. sourcing one locally/waiting for one to arrive would have been a major pita, so i decided to take matters into my own hands.. (pics don't show it, but the integrated stem cap was machined down too. it slides all the way into the steerer and is held in place with a bolt and nut)

boshed this one back together for a few days, Not really a project as such but different to how its been built in the past!

That looks solid. Like it.
Was getting a little bored of the daily hack so I finally updated the forks which meant in turn new headset and stem n bars from the parts bin.
Still need to fine tune things but yeah, liking the wound ups.

Can anyone help me out? I’m struggling to get a threaded headset which will screw down tightly onto the headtube of my roadbike. Its measurements are:
Headtube: 101mm
Unthreaded steerer: 140mm
Threaded steerer: 17mmI’ve tried two headsets so far. First:

[Stack height 34mm]Then:

Nice. Port de Soller!
Snapped a pic of my roadie today, need to cut the steerer, thinking about getting one of the stems that will create the 90 degree angle, -17 possibly? Also wanting some new wheels but that can wait.
