Joe, my Rome recommendations if you haz time. Pizza place really is boss. And I've eaten a lotta pizzas.
Ai Marmi Pizzeria, Viale di Trastevere, 53/57
Authentic roman pizza, open kitchen, amazing spectacle, also try the 'suppli' as starter – fried rice balls with melty cheese inside
Da Augosto, Piazza Dè Renzi, 15
Good basic trattoria, go for something like rabbit, house wine, sunshine, perfect lunch venue
Perilli, Via Marmorata, 39
Another good traditional trattoria, very popular with Italians
Eataly, Piazzale XII Ottobre 1492
Quite cool cross between Waitrose and a posh food market
I'm allergic to spending money so anything much more than €30 per head and I'm in a panic... Will check all those you and @tommmmmmm mentioned tho'... Off out to see some Roman ruins now... I miss the Spanish menú del día, lunch for €10 is pretty hard to beat in Europe....
