Yup, I think you're right regarding the tyre shape then. What rims are they? Don't look like RHs from the photo.
I am keen to try some Bontrager Chupacabra tyres... won't be until the Knards wear out though.

My front rim is a Kris Holm Freeride.
Rear is an onza trials rim and with a Conti Vertical it popped straight on.

Wow. I like that one.

OnOne Fleegle bars curve forward, then back.
They give you a slightly swept-back grip without messing with the reach.

Anybody got experience using profile racing cranks and a euro BB on their SSMTB?
I've not found a chainring I like in 104bcd and have a pair of these on my BMX that I think would be cool on the JYD, just need to find a BB that will withstand actually being ridden.

What's there to like about a chainring?!

+1 for fleegle pros, I've got the 31.8mm version on my Salsa SSMTB, and I've just fitted the 25.4mm version to Emma's MTB.
PX had them going cheap recently, especially if you want off-trend clamp sizes and will accept unfashionable colours.

I like ones that don't do this :-)

Re. Fleegles... The shitty graphics polish off.

I will have a rummage in the parts bin, got a feeling I have some flat sweepy salsa bars in 26.0.
If not I've got some nice ti bars that'll hopefully be going spare in a few days... 20deg bend, 720 wide... you'd need to source a smaller shim though as I've only got OS at present.

I ovalised a Surly ring in one ride, the first ride on my SSMTB. I thought the EBB had moved, didn't realise the extra chain slack was loose chainring bolts.
I blame Keep Pedalling for not letting me fit the chainring he'd just sold me inside the shop, had to do it out on the street.
Mine has a strip of polythene, a layer of gaffer tape and a split tube and it's going naewhere.
I could add more tape but I'm pretty convinced it's to do with how the tyre sits when deflated so going to persevere with the tube for now.
