My biggest problem with this is why he drove to a place to ride his bike in the first place.
Surely any bike being ridden on the less than perfect park road can be ridden to the park.

Richmond Park so it's probably a triathlete running £70/ea tubs and they are at least sensible enough not to get them full of glass, rubble, etc. before riding.

This strikes me as the stupidest thing in the world and I just can't understand it.
Spotted a guy earlier in Richmond Park carrying his bike from the car to the road to begin his ride. 50 metres FFS!
Why don't people just wheel them? Is it some sort of machismo thing? Is carrying a bike easier than I'm giving it credit for?
