I am going away on Monday for a few weeks and I am beginning to miss my kitty... will she miss me?? :-(
-
• #3679
Yes. You will be missed by kitty.
Love the steps up to the cat flap in the pic x -

Let's hope she comes running to me when I return... is it even normal for a cat to run to its owner wanting nothing more than to say hi? Coz Patch has been doing tnis a lot since I got back from an unexpected long time away last year...
About the steps, she could use the flap perfetly well without them... but not better place to put her scratch pad!

Yes! Yesterday when I came back I thought I should video Sam coming to meet me at the end of the road, because he is so pleased to see me. Usually he is out there waiting for me, and when I come back late at night he is sometimes sitting on my neighbour's bench giving me the 'What time do you call this?' look.

The odd thing with Patch is she usually comes running to me from the back of the garden after she hasn't seen me for... less than an hour... as for waiting for us to come home, I get that look too. If I come home at the usual time, the all is fine, I get a cuddle as a reward, but if I am late, she would still.come ferry me by the door but she would take 1 look at me and walk awa, sit next to me but not on my lap... cats are weird, Ain't they?

Latest cat sitting situation, originally I had 1 friend who could do the whole duration (4 weeks), but now he is likely not able to for about 10days, during that 10 days I might have to get 2 different people to cat sit, anything we can do to make it easier for the most timid cat in world?

Think Patch knows I am going away... :-(

Delicious, chewy bar tape.
Do you have an old set of bars somewhere that you can wrap with the mangled tape and leave lying around at cat-height for him? Might distract him from the ones on the bikes.
Then again, it might make things worse! THAT'S THE FUN OF HAVING CATS!

So has anyone signed up for this?
http://pawtrack.com/It's a bit spendy, but I'm a little tempted to say the least. @Dammit have you thought about this for James?
They will be ready to ship end of April/May so they are now asking people for collar measurement sizes etc.I'm mailing them to ask some more questions, but this is what I gather sofar:
It Takes a location every 10 mins and uploads, either automatically or on demand.
It'll give you an notification when your cat arrives home, or you can fire up the app and see where it is anytime.
Built in accelerometer, powers down pawtrack when its not moving It will recognise your home wifi and only start working when your cat goes out of range, when it's home it'll know its in range and power down.
Battery lasts about a week.
Collars costs £75 , with a £5.99 month subscription. Minimum term is 12 months. -

I did but I am not sure if I could justify the cost... particular my cat has pretty been a self made indoor cat for months now and even when she does go out, I can see where she is...

what a cutie.
I had a moment of panic/disaster at the weekend when Sam escaped whilst I was spraying the paving stones with wet & forget. (It is safe for cats once dried, but not wet).
I chased him through 2 gardens to retrieve him before he licked his paws and then had him struggling against me as I wasn't going to put him down until I'd cleaned his paws. I realised that the quickest and easiest way to clean his paws properly was to run 1 inch of water in the bath. Not happy puss cat, but paws were swiftly drenched. Phew. -

Hey, anybody who have/had Sphynx? Finally, after few years living in London, I'll be able to get a cat.
Was discussing with my partner which breed to get and we both agreed that we want Sphynx.
Any personal experiences from where and who to get a kittens? Checked Pets4You, Gumtree etc, but looking for somebody reliable with good reputation.
Thank you very much!

Sphynx cats are awful. They get too cold and ill so can't really go outside and do cat things. Breeding cats like that is cruel and owning them is perpetuating it.
Do as you will though.

Clefty- th GPS thing I got worked once then stopped charging,so I've not really focussed on it. What's the TCO of the Pawtracks thing for 12 months?
