Your stem bolt appears to be cracked at the 11 o'clock position........
Been thinking along same lines as have a larger tin that held 2x5cl whiskeys, but decided it might be a thief magnet, i was only going to leave a tube and lever in mine and maybe add some bottle bosses to bolt it too, or try and intergrate it with a rear rack and spray it black so it dosen't shout to smackhead thieving types that it might still contain booze.
Did look at an old PUCH touring bike in a shop at camden lock last weekend that had 2 alloy containers inside the rear rack, i did wonder if this was only a workable idea outside of London.
