My product knowledge training says no. In reality I've no idea nor am I really bothered.

I'd stay clear of the returns department if you're telling customers that selvedge doesn't fray
-
• #1980
^^what they say.
-
• #1981
they meant the selvedge edge. not the fabric in general.
-
• #1982
I'm not telling customers anything. Nobody buys them because they're the same cut as non selvedge and no amount of anti fray edges is worth an extra 20 quid to them.

So I have shrunk out of my favourite raw jeans...
do I get them altered or tepid wash and hope they shrink a bit? -
• #1984
do track sprint sessions and whey shakes, bulk them thighs up !
-
• #1985
Get them altered but make sure you tell them to alter the inseam otherwise they'll knacker the selvedge edge - I had this done to a pair of rainbow selvedge this week and was gutted!

Cheers for warning! I might even pony up for a denim specialist.. the time I got them darned I think the guy steam pressed them afterwards - I felt a right plonker for not mentioning anything.
jeans have been waiting a year for me to refatten up which hasnt happened.

Washing denim. I've almost fucked a pair of Edwin's, I don't want to fuck anymore.
What causes the fucking shitty lines you see after washing? My machine appears to put them in the same place (it fucked my Carhartts in the same way). -

Washing inside out?
-
• #1993
Can't remember if I did that time. Standard from now. Do not want to hand wash....
-
• #1994
Don't wash them. How many times do people have to be told

I just washed my gustins and Edwins together, inside out on gentle. Made sure they say very straight to dry, I think that's really important. I understand you don't want to wash jeans often, but never seems like some kind of BS to me, and kind of gross.

I have a child and I'm a fucking slob. There is no way on earth my jeans are staying raw.

i went for the bath soak on my edwins, instead of the washer, run bath with luke warm water , small bit of washing powder / liquid (the delicate wool stuff is good) let the jeans soak for 30-40 mins rinse off with cold water hang to drip dry - pref outdoors this helps with airing the jeans giving them a nice smell.
worked ok with mine - not a regular thing just when they got too much.

Did they shrink?
-
• #1999
No shrinkage (that i noticed) but i had already had a shrink soak when i first bought them, it was a good year of wearing in before the cleaning / wash soak so any shrinkage was not noticed because they had been so well worn in.
also reinforce busseynova point of making sure jeans are flat ie no big creases or folds in otherwise it will cause a streaky look
Tell me about it.
