    Now wise forumites, I need your advice.
    Turns out I have bigger problems.
    I have taken the day off to take the bike for it's first proper outing.
    Rode over to Canary Wharf to put my daughter on the school bus.
    Put the brakes on doing no more than 30kph and there is a bang. Looking down, I see the front right brake pad at the bottom of the caliper. It's gouged the tyre, ruined the pad and left a mark on my rim which I'm not sure will come off. Mechanic hasn't done the caliper up properly!
    Now I'm a fairly reasonable bloke.
    Take it back to the shop and the mechanic is really apologetic and in a very English way, we some how end up apologising to each other. Boss is away. Will need to talk to him when he's back etc.

    Where does the fault lie? Bike had done no more than 6km. Bit fucked off really that it's ruined a fairly expensive tyre and pads. Hopefully the bike shop will do the right thing.
