Can anyone confirm that the weather will be lovely this year please?

I'm on the verge of buying a better tent (last year the only negative thing about the trip was having to insert myself into a tent that was marginally smaller than me) and don't want to waste money if the weather is going to be foul.

Last year was awesome. Purposefully lurking since I am still not sure if I can make that weekend. Think of this post as a 'maybe' at this point!

I've booked a car + 3 passenger crossing from Southampton to East Cowes at 4pm on the Saturday, returning at 12.30 on the Monday. But timings are flexible.

If anyone is interested in a lift from South London to Kite Hill (via Southampton and East Cowes) on the Saturday, give me a shout. There should be room in the car for three bikes (perhaps partly dismantled) plus tents etc.

Or if anyone wants me to cart their camping stuff down there, let me know.

I might be enjoying a weekend of putting up a new shed in the garden. Decsision to be made Friday. If i come I'll be down on Saturday eve.

right so it would seem that this year no f*cker wants to do the Tour of Wessex again. So this will be my May tour instead. Hoping I can get that shed sorted! I will be down Saturday evening and heading back Sunday eve. I'll bring grinder, handpresso and espresso cups. Filter coffee in a bidon is so 2014.

I should be able to bring a giant gas canister for campsite use. Not carrying it on the bike, mind.

accommodation booked. staying in between the campsite and bembridge. will be having a gentle geared roll this year. hope to see some of you passing us at some point or at the stops.

So...the weather isn't being very helpful, by the looks of it.

Rain likely from Saturday afternoon through to early Sunday morning, less risk of rain from about 10am onwards on Sunday and a chance of clear skies late on Sunday night. Not very warm.

Now thinking I can't be bothered, given the weather. Unless anyone can find a way of changing my mind, I will probably spend the weekend putting down a new garden path. And maybe riding along the pilgrims way.

So the weather wasn't amazing but we had a lot of fun (more when I was allowed to stop for an ice cream). Still haven't seen the needles though (fog today, last time was on a TNRC deluxe)

Any more reports?
