I cycled across the Yorkshire dales a couple of weeks ago and got snowed and sleeted on which weirdly made the whole thing more fun, went from York to Ripon, Ripon to Settle and then I got the train to Dent and cycled back, then from Settle to Skipton. I would highly recommend the area north of Skipton for cycling, it is absolutely beautiful in a lumpy and wild kind of way.
