I like the Zingoniascale jacket, but i'm useless with armpit to armpit measurenment - would it fit nicely draped around my skinny 40" chest?

Everything (except the shoes) was bought in the Nineties: it was second-hand then, so expect bobbling and road tar etc. I've detailed anything more significant in the additional photos.
The shoes were bought new when I stopped using clips and straps, but I only used them a handful of times, as can be seen from the condition of the soles.
