• A few weeks ago I came across a black Cannondale for sale close to home. Went on spot to take a look and ended up buying it.. although I negotiated a bit 'cause the paint's not in good shape.
There are spots where the paint has bubbled due to some dust under it (I believe this is called alumina, caused by the aluminum's corrosion).

The serial no. says it's from '89 and after sifting through some catalogs, I found out that it's the model SR500, "Black Lightning" edition. Size is perfect for me, a 56 square.

This is how it looked the day I bought it:

Around these "bubbles", the paint comes off quite easily if scratched, but other than that it's in good shape, so I decided to keep the original paint if I manage to work around the decals (which are almost intact).
The idea is to only paint around the affected areas, which are already sanded and cleaned up:

I still need to find the right paint, sand the overlapping areas and then apply some 2k coating.

And if all this doesn't work, I'll try to find the original decals and respray it completely black, but I was thinking in adding a personal touch: rainbow sparkle (tamiya ps 53 for those who know it)..
